Paper Submission


  • Please align your paper with the topics of one our subcommittees.
  • Using the ECOC 2026 paper template is mandatory.
  • The maximum paper length is 3 pages plus one extra page for acknowledgements (optional) and references.
  • The abstract is limited to 45 words.
  • The signed conditional license agreement must be provided either at the time of submission, or at the latest 15 days after the submission deadline.
To submit your paper:
  • If you have not already done so, sign-up via the “My Account” menu.
  • Once logged-in, click on “Start a new submission” in the “My Congress Menu”.
  • Only choose the Invited/Tutorial speaker option if you have received an invitation from the TPC chairs.
  • Follow the steps of the submission system, which include selecting the sub-committee (SC), presentation preference, and student award participation.
  • You must be the presenting author.
  • Acknowledgement of the submission will be sent to the submitting author only.

  • Revised versions can be uploaded until the deadline.
  • Submitted papers must be “camera-ready”.
  • By submitting, you agree to share contact details with the TPC and organizers.
  • Presenting authors must register and can present up to two papers. On-site presentations are mandatory.
  • Only papers correctly associated to a registered author by the early bird deadline will be included.
  • Papers will be published in the Proceedings, archived by Optica Publishing Group (ISBN/DOI), and submitted for indexing (Scopus, Google Scholar, Web of Science).
  • Comply fully with the official template and rules of scientific conduct.
  • Title: Concise, avoiding abbreviations.
  • Abstract: 45-word limit, identifying field, novelty, and relevance.
  • Introduction: Clearly state research topic, state-of-the-art, technical problem, and novelty.
  • Main Text: Original solution, justified choices, reproducible details, and quantitative claims.
  • Figures & Tables: Clear, self-explanatory, and correctly labelled with units.
  • Conclusions: Summarise key ideas and novelty supported by numbers.
  • References: Provide full details and follow the template style.
